Managing Partner's Profile



Apart from core professional experience of Auditing and Accounting of Chief Labode, he was a member of the Commission of inquiry into The Advertising Expenses of Nigeria Airways Limited (1973). He prepared the MANUAL OF ACCOUNTING FINANCIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR UNITY PARTY OF NIGERIA. The manual was later adopted by the Federal Electoral Commission (FEDECO) for the use of all then registered political parties during the civilian rule {second republic} 1979 - 1983. He later wrote and published "PARTY POWER The experience of an Accountant", {1988} and he has some publications to his credit in professional journals and newspapers. He also served as speaker/resource person at workshops/seminars.

As a technocrat, he participated at various workshops including the followings:

  • National Workshop on Accounting and Financial reporting in the Public Sector – 2009
  • Leadership Training on Ethics, Accountability and Corporate Governance in America –2010
  • XVII World congress of Accountants at Istanbul, Turkey – 2006

Alhaji S.T. Labode became a member of the Association in 1979 and served in various capacities including the Chairmanship of Ogun State Branch (1998-2001). He was nominated into the Council in 2001 and has held the following positions in the Council:

  • Chairman, Branches and Benevolence Committee 2003 - 2005
  • Treasurer 2005 - 2009
  • Chairman Conference Publicity & Workshop committee in 2005
  • Member, Board of Governors of Nigeria College of Accountancy 2005 till date
  • 2nd Vice President 2009 - 2011
  • 1st Vice President 2011 - May, 2013
  • President 2013 till Date

He also served in some other Committees of the Association including:

  • Chairman, Finance and General Purpose Committee 2005 - 2009
  • Chairman, Examination and Conference Marking Committee 2011 till date
  • Chairman, Building Committee 2011 till date

He represented the Association and participated at various Conferences, Seminars and Workshops Locally and Internationally, These included:

  • Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) in Monterey, Canada
  • International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER)in Singapore
  • World Congress of Accountancy (WCOA) in Istanbul, Turkey
  • Pan Africa Federation of Accountants (PAFA) in Cape Town, South Africa
  • IFAC International Federation of Accountant (IFAC) in Cape Town, South Africa
  • National workshop in Accounting and Financial Reporting In the Public Sector organized by Nigeria Accounting Standard Board, Lagos, Nigeria

Similarly he represented the Association at retreats of Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria.



Chief Labode started his working career in 1966.

He worked with the following professional accounting firms:

  • Lafenwa Osieru & Co. Senior Audit Manager May 1977 - April 1978 (Chartered Accountants)

Chief Labode was the National Accountant (and later Director Finance) of Unity Party of Nigeria {a nation-wide political party now proscribed} from October 1978 to December 1983.

While working, Chief Labode took and passed the Examinations of the Association of International Accountants.

At the formation of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria {ANAN}, one of the two regulatory accountancy bodies in Nigeria in 1979, Chief Labode applied and was admitted.He is currently a member of the Governing Council of the Association.
